Dremel Idea Builder 3d Printer first print.
The Dremel Idea Builder 3d Printer first print was a magical moment. It’s a small frog demo file that came with it. Material is white Dremel PLA. It was the coolest time seeing my first 3d print come to life. I was hooked from then on.
The Dremel Idea builder was my first 3d printer. It’s a great little printer to start with. The build volume is on the smaller side 9″ x 5.9″ x 5.5″ without a heated bed. I’ve made many models with it in PLA and it worked like a champ. I use the 2″ wide blue painters tape from Home Depot. I can get 2-3 prints of a set of tape if I’m careful removing the finished print. The most important step of any printer is leveling your bed before every print. It only takes a few minutes which is great insurance for a many hour long print.
And another great insurance for long prints is plugging the printer into a battery backup unit. Having the battery back up unit save my print 37hours into a 50hour print when the power at my house flickered and went out for a few minutes. The print would have otherwise been scrapped if not for the battery backup.. It’s a definite must have and after your first power outage, you will be thankful.
